White Roses | Fraternity As Vanity 2017

Self-produced and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee in the United States White Roses is the result of an intensive three-year process of creative re-birth. A marker of transition from acoustic folk singer song-writing to electronic pop experimentalism. Artistic autonomy achieved through learning Ableton Live, how to program electronic drum machines and synthesizers, and the building of a personal home studio.

“diaphanous and danceable tunes coaxed from an imposing maze of gear.”

The Nashville Scene

“lush electronic instrumentation with gorgeous, gentle vocals and serious pop sensibility.”

Desire | Rhythm Method 2011

Self produced and recorded with Lee Prebble at The Surgery Studios in Wellington, New Zealand. Desire draws on an early childhood spent singing in Pentecostal church gatherings in the Southern Californian desert. These formative years in regional proximity to the stomping grounds of Buck Owens and Gram Parsons are explored through combining traditional song arrangement and the raw emotionalism of vocal harmony. This album is an expression of an unquenchable desire for love and a return to ‘home’.

“Subtle production, understated arrangements, heart-touching lyrics, and rare delivery which invites you in close.”

Jess Chambers and The Firefly Orchestra | Rhythm Method 2008

Jess’ debut solo album produced in collaboration with Justin ‘Firefly’ Clarke, Jess Chambers and the Firefly Orchestra garnered critical acclaim in New Zealand. The delicate yet anthemic opening track 'Island' has quietly become a national treasure.  Played on public radio repeatedly after the devastating earthquake in Christchurch, licensed by the NZ Green Party for their National election campaign in 2008 and a finalist for NZ’s most prestigious songwriting award the APRA Silver Scroll that same year. The album shimmers with melody and lyrical honesty, layers of strings and lush guitars delicately counter-balanced by Taonga Puoro (traditional Maori flute).

"Sweet soothing music from a rising local talent…The Wellington singer and songwriter set out to make an album of comforting music and spent five years searching for the right sound to accompany her delicate-yet- dynamic voice, a voice that soars lightly to hit the impossibly high notes of 'Reaching for the Moon' and just as easily swoops down to the sultry, lower register of 'Soldiers'."
